There are fraudulent e-mails and text messages circulating that use the name eHerkenning. Do not respond to the requests in these e-mails and text messages, these are phishing attempts. Do not click on the links and delete the e-mails and text messages immediately.

What is phishing?
Phishing is a form of digital fraud where scammers attempt to obtain valuable personal information through false information requests, such as e-mails, textmessages, or WhatsApp messages. These messages often appear to come from known and trusted organisations, such as government agencies and banks, in order to gain the recipient's trust.

How to recognise phishing emails?
Check the sender's address, paying special attention to what comes after the @ symbol. Digidentity only sends messages from noreply@digidentity.eu or helpdesk@digidentity.com. You can delete emails from other senders immediately.

Fraudulent messages often contain requests to verify, update, or complete your personal or login information. Never click on the associated link or suspicious attachments without verifying their authenticity.

Be sceptical of e-mails that exert pressure with notifications of final warnings or urgent messages.
